The National Television Awards shortlist was announced officially today and it looks set to be another exciting ceremony later this month.  The winners will be unveiled in a night of glitz and glamour, at London’s O2 Arena on the 26th January 2010.

NTA favourites Ant & Dec are nominated in the categories of Entertainment Presenter, Entertainment Programme for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and for Britain’s Got Talent in the Talent Show category.  The cheeky duo already have over 15 NTAs and have claimed an award every year for 10 years in a row!  I hope they win again this year as they’re always such a pleasure when they come back stage to talk to media…. and this year’s I’m A Celebrity was hilarious!

As Coronation Street celebrates its 50th Anniversary, they’ll be hoping to duplicate the success of last year to take home the crown of Best Serial Drama, but they’re up against stiff competition from EastEnders, Emmerdale and my personal favourite Hollyoaks.

I’m also looking forward to seeing the outcome of the new Digital Age category that will see Peter Andre go head to head with Glee and The Inbetweeners.  The comedy category is also looking like it’ll be a tough one to call with Benidorm, Harry Hill’s TV Burp, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Outnumbered all in the running.

The awards host, Dermot O’Leary may also be on stage to collect an award on the night, as he’s nominated in the category of Entertainment Presenter.

Now that the shortlist has been announced, and with only three weeks to go until the night, the Maclaurin Media team are busy preparing for the event.  In the meantime make sure you get voting for your favourites! http://www.nationaltvawards.com
