The Wanted had plenty of reasons to celebrate yesterday after they hit the top spot on the Big Top 40 chart with this year’s Official Comic Relief song ‘Golden Forever’.
The band’s success followed a knock out performance on Comic Relief on Friday night after they were narrowly beaten in the race to number one last week by Nicole Scherzinger, with her second single as a solo artist ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’.
Elsewhere in the chart Adele continued to remain strong with ‘Someone Like You’ at number 2, Nicole Scherzinger slipped to third whilst Jessie J’s ‘Price Tag’ re-entered the top 10 at number 4.
The Big Top 40 is the UK’s biggest national chart reaching over 2.2million listeners each week. The chart is broadcast across the country, to stations within the Heart and Capital networks, Bauer’s Big City Network, GMG’s Real and on digital radio.
