On Tuesday night we sat down to watch the second episode of ‘Britain’s Next Big Thing’ on BBC Two, which featured our new client ‘Wingman’.
The first instalment last week pulled in 1.5 million viewers and saw product designers queuing for hours outside Liberty in London, to meet the team of buyers with the potential of getting their product stocked in the world famous department store. And last night saw the introduction of Wingman and its Founder Stuart Jolley as they visited Boots HQ in Nottingham.
The cameras followed Stuart as he pitched his product to the panel of experienced Boots buyers – something he’s told us was a really nerve-racking experience, mainly because he knew what a massive opportunity it was. The 24 year old impressed them from that start with his well prepared and unique pitch along with the innovative product. As a result, they invited him back for a second meeting to begin talks on how the brand can develop and to discuss the targets and objectives for the future.
It’s great to see a new brand enter the men’s grooming arena and Stuart is keen to expand his business so that he can compete against the likes of Lynx for a slice of that market. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been busy talking to media about the new product and we’ve had a great reaction so far. We’re sure it’s going to be a massive hit this Summer, especially during the festival season!
We’ll be watching Stuart’s progress throughout the series, which is now on BBC Two for the next five weeks on Tuesdays at 8pm.
